I’ve never really been big on reading. I’ve always been in and out of being able to finish a book and thats the honest truth. Until I finally found my niche of books that make me feel empowered and inspire me more than any fiction can or dare I say it, The Bible. Now, The Bible is great for my spiritual needs but who’s gonna motivate me to build a multi-million dollar company? Sophia Amoroso, the “OG” #Girlboss, ladies.
Since starting my own business, I’ve designed my own line of “text books” that no college would have recommended to me & not only have these books encouraged me to start DIGITALXDIVA but honestly have gotten me through some of my worst hardships and lifted me up at my lowest lows. I couldn’t thank the authors of these books enough for encouraging me to be the “BadAss #GirlBoss” that I’ve become. Along with sticking to “GirlCode,” helping me be proud of the person I am today.
The books/audibles listed below are the books that encouraged me to pave my own path, start my business, move across the country, are what I have playing in the background every day to keep me motivated and in a positive #GirlBoss spirit, and overall helped me evolve as a young professional.

2) #GIRLBOSS by: Sophia Amoruso
Sophia Amoruso spent her teens hitchhiking, committing petty theft, and scrounging in dumpsters for leftover bagels. By age twenty-two she had dropped out of school, and was broke, directionless, and checking IDs in the lobby of an art school–a job she’d taken for the health insurance. It was in that lobby that Sophia decided to start selling vintage clothes on eBay.
Flash forward ten years to today, and she’s the founder and executive chairman of Nasty Gal, a $100-million-plus fashion retailer. Sophia was never a typical CEO, or a typical anything, and she’s written #GIRLBOSS for other girls like her: outsiders (and insiders) seeking a unique path to success, even when that path is windy as all hell and lined with naysayers.
#GIRLBOSS proves that being successful isn’t about where you went to college or how popular you were in high school. It’s about trusting your instincts and following your gut; knowing which rules to follow and which to break; when to button up and when to let your freak flag fly.
*This one I highly recommend getting an Audible! #GirlBoss is my favorite Audible to listen to at any time of the day, especially while I’m driving. I have #GIRLBOSS playing constantly as my background noise and tune into my favorite chapters often for my daily “motivation tools” as I call it!

Do your eyes glaze over just thinking about the mumbo-jumbo language of finance? Do you break out into hives when faced with getting your financial life together? Well, sister, you are not alone.
In Rich Bitch, money expert and financial journalist Nicole Lapin lays out a 12-Step Plan in which she shares her experiences—mistakes and all—of getting her own finances in order. She talks to you not like a lecturer but as your friend. And even though money is typically an “off-limits” conversation, nothing is off-limits here.
Lapin rethinks every piece of financial “wisdom” you’ve ever heard and puts her own fresh, modern, sassy spin on it. Sure, there are some hard-and-fast rules about finance, but when it comes to your money, the only person who can tell you how to spend it is you. Should you invest in a 401(k)? Maybe not. Should you splurge on that morning latte? Likely yes. Instead of focusing on nickel-and-diming yourself, Nicole’s advice focuses on investing in yourself so you don’t have to stress over the little things.
Rich Bitch rehabs whatever bad money habits you might have and provides a plan you can not only sustain, but also thrive on. You won’t feel deprived but rather inspired to go after the rich life you deserve, and confident enough to call yourself a rich bitch.
I seriously encourage you to get an Audible account if you’re a “bad” reader like me. Amazon offers a free 30-Day Trial with 2 credits meaning 2 free books! Consider these books as the ultimate textbooks to graduate from “GirlBoss University,” and tools to really help you succeed.
