Met Gala 2016: Literally LIT.

I’m pretty sure every girl’s dream came true at the Met Gala tonight. Hours later after stalking every single picture and video of Claire Danes on the red carpet, I am still in completely awe. The excitement that I have for this moment in fashion and for American designers cannot be contained. Claire’s gown tonight was glowing in the dark, leaving me in tears. With this year’s theme being “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” Zac Posen and Claire Danes absolutely nailed it. This glowing gown reportedly was made of fiber optic organza, and had 30 mini battery packs sewn into it. While many designers had intergalactic inspirations and out of this world metallics in mind, Zac Posen actually wove technology into this gown bringing innovation and technology in fashion to a whole new level.

Every year Met Gala attendees take the theme so seriously and sometimes a little too literal, whereas Zac made it clear he got the memo but still kept true glamour of being on the red carpet and the magic of the Met in mind. This really is the most beautiful dress I have ever seen and is truly a work of art. I feel so grateful to be alive to witness this moment in fashion, as I can only imagine how much opportunity and inspiration this brings to young designers all over the world. Congratulations to Claire for being at the top of the Best Dressed and Zac Posen for reaching a complete milestone not only in his career but in the history of fashion.
