Consider this report from a “nobody’s” point of view… LAST NIGHT WAS A DREAM! With San Francisco being the hottest city to be in this weekend, Superbowl 50 events make it easy to take a wrong turn and find yourself on the red carpet! Thats how I felt last night; moments of needing someone to pinch my cheek and realize this is reality.
Bleacher Ball is definitely the biggest event I’ve ever worked so far. It was a night full of a-lister’s, then and now athletes, but also a night to honor San Francisco Veterans with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). Presented by go90, a free mobile app for streaming live sports, music, and news, this star-studded event also included a live performance by Grammy Award Winning Zac Brown Band. Never feeling so small in my life was only 50% of the reason of not being able to know who’s who. Athletes from all over the country including J.J. Watt, Eli Manning, Trent Murphy, and many many more I wish I could name, towered over me the entire night.
Some familiar names to also grace the red carpet (non-athlete) much more high profile than I, include Miss America, Kira Kasantsev, Conan O’brien, Bachelorette, Andi Dorfman, Youtube and Vine Stars Yousef Erakat and Hayes Grier. With you guys knowing me, of course I got to have my first ever red carpet moment before and after the partying was done. “Sporting” a high neckline, forest green suede dress with an angled hemline, I decided to go with something more casual but still trendy as it was a sports event.
So what was I doing, Alyssa Camille, at this VIP invitation-only event? I actually only found out within 10 minutes of being there and that was already a dream come true. Working part-time for a marketing agency, tonight’s task was to promote Alyssa Milano’s new athletic wear line “Touch.” With my mother naming me after her at birth, I was in shock when I found out I would get to meet her let alone represent her. Wearing “Touch” from head to toe, myself and the other girls were definitely Superbowl festive, networking with the guests and speaking with press about her new line. After a cheers to success with the team and Alyssa Milano herself, we got to enjoy the private performance, more drinks, open burger bar, and and unlimited amount of bite-size churros. Yum.
Before the event, I knew I was going to come across a lot of big names and was super nervous about it, yet once I was there I realized that this was a safe place from paparazzi and press for these celebs, I actually felt calm for most of the night. One moment though, that was another highlight for me was trying to make my way up closer to the stage during Zac Brown Band’s performance and Eli Manning encouraging me on my littleness helping me push through. Can’t forget to mention finding out Liam Hemsworth snuck in past the red carpet and I ever so casually brushing arms against him at the bar. Of course, I couldn’t help but get excited in hopes of Miley being his date but ordering a drink from the same bartender was an honor alone. With full access to behind the scenes and backstage, getting to meet the band members of Zac Brown Band was even much more than I could have asked for other than singing along with them to “Chicken Fried”
I’d have to say this was an amazing way to start off Superbowl Weekend. With tickets for the big game going for well over $3,000 I’m honored to say that I got to experience Superbowl 50 well beyond the bleachers.
